As any designer knows, bungalow kitchen spaces are small with typically not a lot of leeway. This one was no exception.
Moving and widening the doorway as well as changing the opening style to match the rest of the house welcomed the kitchen into the living spaces while keeping true to the Arts & Crafts architecture. Proper layout of the appliances (let’s put that sink under the window for sure!) helped with flow. A small perch for a quick snack for the homeowner was a nice addition.
The very small, tight bathroom became a jewel box of its own. By removing the built-in tub, we were able to have a focal shower wall with warm wood finishes again to flow with the feel of the rest of the home. Ahhhh…sweet success!!
